First off, I’m a big believer in hard work. If you want something, then quit waiting for it to magically show up on your doorstep…go out, get it, and bring it home. I work very hard in my business and as a result we make a fairly decent living. But at the same time, I know there are times in life where you could just use a couple of extra bucks in addition to the job you already have, so what are some good money-making options in those situations?
Here are some ideas…
- Sell Stuff – I promise you that you’ve got stuff lying around you don’t need anymore and could sell for some extra cash. Check your closet, garage, attic, under the bed, and everywhere you can think of. Once you find some of that stuff, you’ve got lots of options for selling it. Personally, I’m a big fan of Craigslist or eBay. Craigslist is free for selling so I tend to lean that direction. You could also partner together with some friends or neighbors and have a garage sale. You can also buy things on discount/clearance and resell them online. I used to make a living buying and reselling clothes on eBay.
- Sell Skills – We all have skills that are marketable. What are some areas you’re talented in? Photography, graphic design, editing, computer repair, art, brain surgery….ok, maybe not brain surgery but you get the idea. So many times hobbies can easily be turned into businesses. At the very least, I know you’re capable of babysitting or mowing yards. You could also pet-sit or clean houses. Print up some fliers, take them to neighbors and see where that takes you.
- Sell Siblings – I doubt your little brother is worth anything on the open market, but I needed another ‘S’ word and I figured some of you wouldn’t mind giving up a sibling…or two.
